What is a Retirement Community?
A retirement community lifestyle provides the active retiree with an affordable, spacious private living unit along with other facilities and access to services to assure each resident that his/her needs will be met. The well planned retirement community includes a wide variety of social and recreational opportunities so each person can pursue his/her own interests in a positive setting that offers convenience, variety, security and companionship. When is the time for me to start thinking about Westhills Village?
It is best to begin thinking of Westhills Village while you are still very active, independent and able to come and go as you please. The earlier you come into Westhills Village, the longer you are able to take advantage of and enjoy all of the benefits of living in a retirement community setting. Many of our residents enjoy traveling and a wide variety of community activities including clubs and civic organizations, artistic and cultural activities such as concerts, symphonies, plays, sporting events and much more. How much does it cost?
Westhills Village is all about choices. The first option is a life care contract. The cost of the contract depends on the size of the apartment that you desire. There are two contracts from which to choose (the Original Plan and the Return on Investment). The resident puts a 5% deposit down when they fill out the application and the remainder of the contract is paid upon move-in. The deposit is 100% refundable up until the time you move in. There is also a monthly service fee which covers one meal per day in the Dining Room, housekeeping every other week, laundry of your flat linens and towels every week, maintenance of the apartment, all utilities except telephone, cable TV, and use of the whole Village. A portion of the Residence Fee paid becomes a credit against your bill when you are no longer able to live in your apartment and need either assisted living or health care on a permanent basis. This credit amount never runs out.
There is also a lease option available on our apartments that does not involve the upfront investment. The lease involves a security deposit, which varies with the size of apartment, and a monthly service fee which covers the same services as listed above. There is an incentive if you choose to switch from a lease to a contract within the first year of living at Westhills Village. (Back to Top)

No, we do require a financial statement, but you continue to be in charge of your own assets. We do this to make sure that everyone who comes into Westhills Village has the financial stability to maintain the same lifestyle to which they are accustomed. (Back to Top)
