1998 in Review
1998 was a busy year at Westhills Village with many opportunities and challenges.

There were 16 apartment sales, 6 apartment residents transferred to the Health Care Facility, 13 apartment resident deaths, 19 new apartment move-ins and 19 apartment transfers to Westhills South Assisted Living. Currently there are 56 people on the waiting list for apartments.

The health care facility had 72 admissions and 45 discharges. Approximately 61% of those admitted to the Health Care Facility were discharged back to their home. This high percentage of residents returning to their own home is unique to our facility. Our goal for ’99 is to maintain this.

The Holidays at Westhills

The Holidays are always fun at WHV, and December’98 was no exception. All areas of the village were beautifully decorated. Residents and guests shared good food and good times in keeping with the season. 13,515 meals were served during December, including 549 guests, and Santa and Mrs. Claus made a surprise visit during the Administrator’s annual Christmas Social.

The New Fitness Center
Keep healthy by getting some exercise in the new fitness center.

Attention Readers
Don’t let small type spoil the enjoyment of reading a good book. The Library has new large print books available for residents who have trouble reading small type. Look them over, check them out and enjoy!

Recycling Helps Everyone
A very dedicated hard-working group of WHV residents have been recycling greeting cards which are sold in the Village Pantry. Almost 4,000 recycled greeting cards have been sold since the group began this project in 1995.

1,657 greeting cards were sold in 1998 generating revenues of $838.50. All revenues are contributed to special activity programs in WHV.

Carports are Coming!
Your patience and cooperation will appreciated as new carports are added in the LMN parking lot.

The new siding is progressing as weather permits. Staining will not begin until spring because is requires a minimum temperature. It’s hard to be patient, but when completed it will be worth the wait!
